### The 3 most important reasons you need estate planning

Nobody like this conversation. It’s uncomfortable and it often gets emotional for family members or friends. Sooner or later, we have to face the eventuality of our own deaths. I told you that you wouldn’t like it but it’s important that you understand how to protect yourself, your wishes upon passing, and the best interests of your loved ones. They are what this is really all about.
A mature, responsible person will realize that steps must be taken to ensure your estate and what you leave behind. Anything can happen, and the last thing you want is for something to happen to you unexpectedly before estate planning was put in place.
Statistics tell us that in the U.S., approximately 55% of adults and 41% of all Baby Boomers do not have a will. In Texas, the entire probate process can be completed within six months for a relatively simple estate. However, expect probate to go on for a year or more if the original will cannot be located or the will is contested. Wills and the probate process are serious legal matters and require the services of an experienced probate attorney.
Here are three important reasons why you should consider estate planning before it’s too late:
